HomeCustom Glass & Mirror ServicesSkylight Glass Replacement in Philadelphia

A failing skylight shows up as fogging between panes, spider cracks, or the water stain creeping across your ceiling. GlassForge replaces skylight glass — laminated-over-tempered safety units built for overhead glazing — in curb-mount and deck-mount skylights from all major brands.

Few Philadelphia glass companies do overhead glazing; it requires laminated units, proper setting blocks and flashing knowledge. We inspect flashing and weep systems on every replacement so the fix actually holds.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you replace only the glass in my skylight?
Usually yes — if the frame and flashing are sound, we replace the glass unit alone for $450–$1,400 depending on size. If the frame or seals have failed, we’ll quote a full-unit replacement honestly and show you why.
Why is my skylight foggy inside?
Same failure as a foggy window: the insulated unit’s seal died. Overhead units fail faster because they take direct sun and thermal cycling. The replacement unit we install uses laminated glass and a warm-edge spacer rated for sloped glazing.
What glass is required for skylights?
Overhead glazing code requires laminated glass on the interior side, so if the unit ever breaks, it stays in one sheet instead of raining down. Every unit we install meets IBC/IRC sloped-glazing requirements.
Is the leak the glass or the flashing?
Half the ‘leaking skylights’ we see are flashing or condensation issues, not glass. We inspect flashing and weep channels on every visit and tell you what’s actually wrong — even when the answer is a roofer, not us.
Do you replace skylights on flat-roof rowhomes?
Yes — Philly rowhome hatches, curb skylights and bubble replacements with code-compliant flat-roof units are regular work for our crews.
